Talk by Prof. Nathalie Destouches


Today Prof. Nathalie Destouches from the Jean Monnet University of Saint-Etienne visited our institute and gave a very interesting talk about "Laser processing of plasmonic metasurfaces for secure color printing."

Final Exam of Two of Our PhD Students


We are proud to announce that our two PhD students Joachim Krauth and Rostyslav Semenyshyn successfully took their final exam. Joachim Krauth was working in the field of nonlinear plasmonics and had his final exam on Wednesday, 30.10.2019. Rostyslav Semenyshyn was researching protein sensing using SEIRA. He took his final exam on Monday, 11.11.2019. Congratulations to both of you!

Today our guest Dr. Arseniy Kuznetsov gave a very interesting talk about his work at IMRE Singapore: "Nanoantenna spatial light modulators for next generation displays".

Group Trip 2019


Our group trip this year took place in the beautiful Kleinwalsertal, Austria. During the week, not only all members of the institute presented their current work in over 40 interesting talks, but we also had two nice hikes in the surrounding mountains.

Our Jun.-Prof. Dr. Thomas Weiss organized the mini-symposium "Resonant state expansion of waves in the near and far field" together with Prof. Dr. Stefan Rotter at the WAVES 2019 in Vienna.

SCoPE Beach Volleyball Tournament 2019


Last Saturday the annual SCoPE Beach Volleyball Tournament took place. Our institute participated with a total of three teams and took the places

Campus Run 2019


Four members of our institute took part in this years 12 km Campus Run and all of them finished in the Top 10. In the team ranking they even got the first place with an impressive time difference of 16 minutes! Congratulations!

Gips-Schüle Award 2019


Our postdoc Dr. Tobias Steinle received the Gips-Schüle Nachwuchspreis 2019 (10.000 EUR). Congratulations!

69th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting Lindau 2019


This year our institute was once again invited to present some of its work at the last day of the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in Lindau. We had a great day and a lot of interesting discussions at the meeting.
